Anahita's Woven Riddle

Meghan Nuttall Sayres
Publisher: Amulet Books

Anahita is at an age to be married. Though tradition is that her father will arrange a marriage for her, and the wealthy khan has asked for her hand, Anahita wants to marry for love or at least marry someone who has things in common with her. So Anahita proposes a riddle contest. She will work on weaving her wedding carpet and incorporate into it a riddle. The man who can figure out the riddle will be her husband.
This book is beautifully written and includes many Iranian terms and ways of life. A very good book to read about another culture. I really enjoyed this one!
