Leslie Gould
Genevive loses her mother in 1975 due to a plane crash during the Vietnam war. At nearly the same time a young lady named Lan is learning to understand the effect of war (poverty) is having on her family. As these two grow older the book follows both of their stories that intertwine in a miraculous way through international adoption.
This is one of my new favorite books. It was well written and very hard to put down. The people in the book are Christian but this book would not be defined as preachy. This book is also not sappy. Perhaps it is a bit slow through the middle while they are waiting for paperwork to be signed for adoption - but it seems natural. It is a very touching and moving book.
